7/5/2023 0 Comments Saku temtem![]() Compared to other Tems that share typings, that's about as distinct as you can get. Even though they share the same dual typing, they fill two completely different roles: Saku is a bulky support with Lifeful Sap and Loali is primarily offensive with Hypoxia. Toxolotl/Noxolotl/Orphyll/Nidrasil learns Narcoleptic Hit by level up, at least one of these four. Kaku/Saku learns Cheer Up instead of Boomerang. ![]() Kaku/Saku learns Roots instead of Narcoleptic Hit. Kaku/Saku learns Spores instead of Sharp Leaf. Swali/Loali gets Bark Shield as an egg technique. Swali/Loali learns Allergic Spread at level 35. Swali/Loali learns Hypoxia instead of Bark Shield by level up. Loali learns Tornado instead of Blizzard. Here's my simplified wishlist for these two: Boomerang is vastly inferior to Wind Burst on Saku in both damage and cost with its only justification being higher priority, which still has to be used on Saku's low base speed and lack of speed investment with TVs. Narcoleptic Hit has to exist somewhere for Nidrasil to learn it which may as well be a level technique on Nidrasil and leave Saku out of it. Saku getting Narcoleptic Hit and Boomerang while still having inferior physical attack to Loali, which doesn't get any physical attacks after Urushiol and the all-powerful Wake Up through technique course, doesn't make much sense. Kaku has slightly more special attack with significantly inferior physical attack yet learns Sharp Leaf, meanwhile Swali's physical attack is barely lower than its special attack but gets Spores as an egg technique. Kaku and Swali have strange early techniques. Saku's terrible speed would be interesting to see on a Deceit Aura team, which would be useful if Loali's Blizzard and Saku's Tornado switched-Loali wants the higher priority and stamina cost, Saku is too slow for Tornado's priority to matter since it won't be built for speed investment and doesn't have much stamina to dump into Tornado. Saku boasts high health and negligably lower special attack. Loali having a little more stamina can be helpful if you use Photosynthesis to fuel a Hypoxia spam set if you're into that sort of thing. Loali's most significant advantage over Saku's base stats is Loali's speed. I want these two to be more distinctly defined apart from each other while still being the early game nature/wind types. Now that Saku also gets Resin Trap, they might be too similar to the point of being redundant.
